These treatments are extremely popular all across the globe. These treatments are completely authentic and herbal based. Several traditional Ayurvedic massages were developed in Kerala, before rising in popularity. These treatments are completely unique, and the practitioners use medicated Ayurvedic oils to perform this treatment
- ElaKizhi
It is a swedana treatment in which the practitioners make use of medicinal leaves infused with medicated oils and essential oils. In this treatment, the leaves are applied to your whole body or a specific part of the body.
These medicated-oil-infused leaves are put in a muslin bag, which is dipped in warm oils during the course of the treatment. You must undergo this treatment for a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of 14 days, for 45 minutes every day.
This treatment is useful in getting rid of chronic back pain, rheumatic complaints, arthritis, inflammation, pain, and paralysis. With the help of this treatment, your nervous system and the muscular system are stimulated, strengthening them and improving the blood flow. - NjavaraKizhi
During this treatment, the practitioner makes use of medicated rice and the root of sidaretusa, which is processed in pure milk to form a paste-like consistency. This treatment can last anywhere between 7 days to 14 days and each session is usually about 60 minutes every day.
The said paste is applied all over the body or a specific area to strengthen nerves, muscles, purify the blood, reduce high blood pressure, and treat skin diseases.
- Pizhichil
In this treatment, lukewarm essential oils are poured all over the body in a rhythmic movement. This stimulation acts as a gentle massage and lasts up to 90 minutes. This treatment can last from 7 days to 21 days. It treats sexual disorders, muscle weakness and nervous system.
- Abhyanga
Abhyanga is an Ayurvedic body massage that acts as a pain reliever. This treatment can last up to 90 minutes every day for 7-21 days. It also provides rejuvenation and gets rid of all the stiffness.
- Karnapooranam
This treatment is the application of medicated oils in the ear canals to get rid of infective pathologies present in the ear.
